ABOUT WHATSHEPAID

Beauty pricing should make sense before the card reader.

WhatShePaid is building consumer price intelligence for local beauty services: what providers list, what customers actually paid, and eventually why those numbers differ.

The question we care about

What should this actually cost where I live? A starting price can be useful, but removal, length, design, preparation and other choices can move the final bill. We want the evidence around that gap to be understandable instead of hidden inside scattered menus and conversations.

Starting deliberately small

We are launching with Gel-X in New York City. That narrow scope lets us compare like with like, show sparse data honestly, and learn whether people will contribute real paid totals before expanding into more services or cities.

The end goal

A mature WhatShePaid should let you look up a service and area, see current salon-listed offers with sources and freshness, compare recent customer-paid observations, understand common price drivers, and contribute what you paid. It should feel like price intelligence—not a booking marketplace, review feed or paid ranking.

Independence matters

A provider relationship must never change an ACTUAL PAID statistic or buy removal of a valid consumer observation. If sponsored or booking products exist later, they must remain visually and analytically separate from price evidence.
